I was doing strides today and out of nowhere, I think I pulled my hamstring. I had no previous problems, but felt a twinge one step and moderate pain the next step that forced me to stop. I could not tell if it was a cramp (never had one in my hammy) or a pull. Jogging was uncomfortable after and different from a cramp. Up until then, the stride were feeling very comfortable and were not sprints.
I went and did some eccentric lifts for my hamstring, massaged it with a foam roller, and iced it a few times, and took two Aleve. My plan is to ice it a few times per day, gently stretch it, and do some eccentric lifts. Does anybody have any other advice based on experience? How long have others taken to come back 100%?
