Just can't see anyone beating the Hogs in cross this year- Cragg, Lincoln, Sandfort, Kimeli, etc. Don't think The Cardinal can stand up to that muscle. look forward to some healthy bantering from this thread...

Sage, Luchini, Robison for three.
Should be a great matchup.
Dobson, Hall?
Hard to tell anything at this point - Hogs-wise- as they haven't run all of their top guys yet. Maybe we'll see something this weekend at Chile Pepper, or wait until OSU Jamboree, where Cragg said he's opening up. Lincoln looks ready, Sandfort needs to get in better shape, Kimeli I dunno. Heard they got some new guys that should make them better, we'll see. They need a better fifth, maybe Mulvaney is ready to step up.
That said, Stanford looks really, really good on paper. It's good that they can only run 7 at NCs, because that evens it out. Usually they have at least 2 guys run avg/poor at NCs.
Also, there's still 7+ weeks until NCS.
One thing's for sure, it's going to be an awesome meet! As usual.
I see Stanford and Ark as the two teams... CU kinda... NAU and Villanova and Wisc even another step down.
For Ark, you have Lincoln and Cragg. Kimeli is good as is Sandfordt. After that it is a bit rough... but still solid. So, at least 4 in the top 20...
With Stanford, you've got Sage and Luchini up front... and they are debuting tomorrow. Hall looked so good at Stanford Invite. Hejny looks like he is in decent shape. Dobson looked absolutely impressive. Robison will probably be up there. Then you've got Tenforde who is running well, Davis who is really surprising people and if they needed them, Meindl and Gotcher had great races at Stanford....
McDonnell can work wonders, though... never doubt the McDonnell card.
It is going to be an impressive race, but I don't think Ark is going to dominate anyone... if they even win.
Oklahome State University - Cowboy Jamboree is this (tomorrow) weekend.
Chile Pepper is two weeks from now.
Stanford always looks good on paper. Except for a couple of times, they seldom run to full potential and then they give us some of the closest meets in NCAA D1 history.
As the Hogs get ready again, suffering through a seldom seen drought, they are still the team most folks will worry about.
Should be a good season. Good health to all.
I hate to beat a dead horse, but Arkansas is going to roll.
Their top 4 are among the top 20 returners, and they'll improve this year. Lincoln is a top 5 guy! Kimeli was less than a second behind him at Missouri Southern! Sandfort is a tough ass kid who will race his ass off to get top 15. Throw in Mulvaney (2nd at NCAA 1500) and Alkin (14:06/29:28) and a bunch of 3:44 types and you have a mean team.
Stanford always has it on paper. They have put together some great teams over the years, but let's be realistic and look at the team Johnny Mac has assembled. These guys are by no means a pushover. With all due respect to Stanford, Arkansas is going to get it done, and with much fewer points than people are predicting (low 50s/high 40s).
Lincoln 2nd
Cragg 3rd
Sandfort 10th
Kimeli 12th
Alkin 26th
or somethin' like that.
Why Arkansas won't win.
Cragg and Lincoln 2,3? Don't think so.
Boaz and the new Kenyan
Jorge Torres
Tom Mcardle
Cragg
Thats your top 5. After that...
Tegankamp
Sage
slattery
ed torres
Blincoe
Robison
the rest of the stanford horde...and the ark guys as well...but...I don't think ark will pull it out. This is stanford's race to lose and ark or cu's to win...but its going to take a lot more effort on stanfords part to lose it than it will to win it...
justa thought, I know lots of disagreement will follow.
