I find myself totally disinterested in the Boston Marathon and I think a large part of it has to do with the fact that I am only interested in seeing American athletes competing with the worlds best. I was really excited about last week's London Marathon all because of Ryan Hall. It seems that for me, marathons that don't have Hall or potentially Ritz down the line are like golf tournaments without Tiger Woods. I am not saying that Hall is as good as Woods in his sport but rather that he peaks the interest of the american running audience similar to the way Woods does for golf fans and that we may get to the point where there are marathons with Hall and marathons without and a vastly different level of interest.
