I posted this question on the end of another thread but thought I would start new discussion. I have been reading about the laws of diminishing returns and have a firm understanding of this theory.
My race times have reach a plateau over the last 4yrs, my mileage has been at the same level over this period and the most notable thing in my training is my workout times (tempo, intervals, reps, etc.) have only improved marginally.
How do I break through to a new level, more mileage (mileage in the last 4 yrs has been 50-70/week), change direction of workouts (been doing the same sort of workout sessions over the last 4yrs), try some new training and if so what. any ideas
