Very nice. You really got to love seeing guys having breakthrough races to step up to the next level. Happens every Olympic year. I wonder who will be next?

Josh Simpson 8th in 28:22. Josh is living in Wv and training with his college coach before the team at WVU was laid to rest. Josh would still be in his 5th year had he not have given up his NCAA status to remain at WVU. What a great story.

he is from the BOSTON area originally... born here, went to high school here, was average in high school, 9:15 2mile... read the whole thread before replying...

Kilburg/Moore are very impressive for the PIlots. That was very close to K-Burg's 5000 PR pace from '07!

Wow! Quigley Kilburg and Moore are truly badass. Talk about improvement. Guess that's what 100-140 mpw gets you in the 10k. Make a note of that: if you want to be a good 10k runner, 100+ mpw is nearly a MUST.

I was there. Just like the women's 10K, it was awesome. Here is how it happened as I remember it.

They went through 14:11 at 5K with Dobson leading.

There was a big pack of runners most of the race. It whittled down to 5 probably at around 4 miles. Dobson, Boaz, Quigley, Korir, Songkok.

That is when the crowd was cheering Dobson and started to pick up Quigley. I remember thinking Quigley is running with the big boys.

Soon after Songkok got dropped which surprised me. And then Dobson went soon after that.

Boaz was doing all the hard work up front. Quigley looked good. But Korir looked really comfortable the whole time. I think everyone thought Korir would go.

With 2 laps to go, Quigley took the lead. He did a 65 I think.

And with 1 lap to go Korir finally went. He put the hammer on the turn and backstretch. Boaz started falling back. It looked like Quigley might fall back but he hung on.

Then around the turn he closed the gap and then passed Korir on the final straight. Shocked everyone.

For all you Withrow fans out there, he tried to stay with the pace for a long time. But he got dropped and kept dropping back. Still ran well though.

One other comment: if the video comes out, check out Nef Ariea at the start. It was like he was in all out sprint, and he paid for it at the end.

Oh, I had Quigley at a 59 for the last lap.

Haa Haaa to all you assholes that think you have to go to some SEC, Big 10 or PAC 10 school in order to be successful! Congrats to Quigley for always showing people. He just doesn't give a crap about you skeptics. Haa Haa.
