Does anyone know how much the Nike Pegasus weighed in the middle 80's before they started changing it?

My guess is high 10 oz - low 11 oz..they keep getting worse.
It's a shame! The new one coming in July, The 08 Pegasus25+
is only supposed to be 11+ oz....It looks promising. Wish they would bring back some of the 1980's models.
I hear that Nike are going to be releasing some 80's pegasus models this year.
I thought they were lighter, around 8 or 9 ounces???
did you enjoy the Pegasi of the 80s moreso than the ones now? because Ive heard bad things about the ones now.

sadly, those of us who wore the original pegasus are too old to remember anything about it.
sprained my ankle twice in the 80's in them.
Ran in them all the time. 9.8 oz. Light, and very good show for a light weighted efficient runner.
Of course they were Nike's best selling show of all time - so they changed it.
I stopped wearing the Pegasus in 1989 when they destroyed them. I can't wear Nike now because they are too narrow in the forefoot.

Well said. I just remember I loved them and they were fairly inexpensive. Also thought the magazine ads were pretty cool.."anyone, anytime, anywhere" or something like that
just asking here..
name one shoe company that still makes a model let's say within the last 10 years you liked.
I agree with the other old guys, the original Pegasus were great.
what about the nike duelist sp? of the early 90s! i loved the shoes!!! they were lime green and white! any of the oldtimers rem. them? they were puple and white also,i believe..
The dualist was a great shoe!!! Then they came out with the Mariah (sp) that was too spongy.
Yeah, the dualist was a great shoe. Mine were stolen after a track meet when I went off to do a warm down. I was ticked. I had the Mariah too. I wore them for my Marathons.
I liked them when they had the full PolyU midsole, then did
not like them as much when they went to a full phylon midsole. Jar, where did you hear that Nike was bringing back some 1980 Pegasus models? That would be Awesome.
The 80's Peggys were God's gift to running for me. I could do nearly every conceivable workout in them as they were fairly light, but pretty durable. If they "reissue" them I'll snatch up as many as I can and live on them for the duration.
YES. The Air Pegs, circa 1988-1989, were the best running shoes ever made. I have forever cursed NIKE for ruining them.
I never got injured using Air Pegs. Nevermind this "upgrade" crap they started. Curse you NIKE!!!
Even better:
If they make them the SAME as the originals!!! Lots of RETRO shoes use crap for materials. Caveat emptor.
I just loved those old Air Pegs. They were also available in just about any sporting goods store that sold sneakers. I don't know what NIKE was thinking about.
