I have an 8 gb Zune. I really dislike iPods for various reasons that I am not going to bother discussing. The Zune is rather small (depth) but I haven't had any problems with its durability (I haven't dropped it yet - knock on wood). My last MP3 player met its demise when it fell onto the belt of a moving treadmill and was shot into the wall. I am not 100% happy with the interface because I can't preview the songs once they are on my Zune. Overall, I am pretty please with my Zune.
I have a 30g I like it though I do not use it a ton. I really like the fact that you get radio stations. the screen is bigger than standard ipod which is nice for videos. It is also 2/3 the price. So it is worth it for me.
30GB Gen1 Zune that I got right around Christmas for 99 dollars. At that price you CANNOT beat it. I had an IPOD mini 4GB that I QUICKLY gave to my wife. I prefer the zune much better, it has video, easy interface after you re-program yourself from the IPOD wheel, bright screen, wireless sync and a nice rough scratch resistant case. The only downside again was re-programming from Itunes to the zune software.
I think it really comes down to preference to be honest.
Oh, so you have to use MS Zune software to add or delete files from it? Can it not be used like a flash drive, using Windows to add or remove tracks?
I have th 8gb zune and it's an upgrade from the creative MP3 player i had. I specifically got the zune vs the ipod because the zune is one of the few players that has a radio. it's got great sound and is pretty easy to use.
the biggest downside of the zune is that there is no getting around using the zune software. the zune is not recognized as a harddrive on your PC. you also can't add a windows media player playlist. my other beef is that there are no instructions. most things are pretty obvious but there are a few things that i'd like to do that i haven't figured out how to do.
