If Ryan Hall were to run the marathon in China and win, but because of the air pollution develop some weird lung problem so he'd never be able to run at the same level again, do you think it would be worth it?
I'm not saying I believe for sure those who say the marathon in that air will ruin your lungs. But hypothetically, if you had his potential, would you be willing to destroy it if you could come away with an Olympic gold medal? Or had the chance at one?
Geb should go for it - he's old, and he's certainly not winning gold in the 10k. I'm not as sure about Hall, and it's still a race, so he could run it and ruin his lungs and not come home with a medal.
