Yeah, only one gold medal last Olympics...why no more?
Aside from the Olympic CHampion?
alcoholism, smoking, general depression
Bogdanov is no joke either
Drugs. I'm surprised this got through four posts without that answer.
The combination of an athletically developed nation and an extreme amount of corruption means I trust nothing that comes out of Russia. I would not be surprised to see a certain very fast runner get busted sometime in the next year or two.

I'm surprised the question was even asked. I thought everyone knew the answer. It raises some questions about their men and whether or not the other 800m runners of the world dope. I'm not pointing fingers necessarily; I'm just saying it makes you wonder.
You're allowed to point the finger at any country except African countries.
I'm one of those naive people who doesn't automatically assume a fast runner is drugged. But come one, the top Russian athletes have PED's dripping out of their buttholes.
I didn't know Russia had any female distance runners...

Your answer lies in this statement. There aren't fast men because all the women are really men.

BS. You´re allowed to point the finger at anyone except white American distance runners.
If so, whoever transgendered Soboleva, Fomenko and Petylyuk is a freakin' master artist of the craft. Much better than that Mozambique doctor.

that made me laugh. reminds me of that south park when the guy gut the dolphinoplasty.
i had heard the all russian males had to do a few years in the military between the ages of 18-24, that would be taken out a few years of important athletic development. it can be done some great runners did not even start until their 30's, but it would make it more difficult.
