Who has the worst indoor track for racing? Was at Sewanee yesterday. Nice place, but it's a brutal 160m unbanked track. Slow times all around.

Lebanon Valley College in PA
The track at my Y has to be the worst. Slippery concrete, 23 1/2 laps per mile, and it is square with mirrors on the corner to see if anyone is coming from the other direction.
Binghmton University- because they never let anyone use it. The local club wants to host meets- but nooooo- the arena is for their prcious basketball team (with a losing record).
They built that beautiful arena and you have to push the bleachers back to clear off the 6 lane track. They could have had the High School State Championships there- but there's no place to sit.

r u kidding? how can you go wrong with mondo and 4 straightaways?
easily lehigh. 200m track with 90m straightaways and some kind of poured surface that probably hasn't been identified.
drake university has a pretty shitty indoor track. 160 meters i think and it hasn't been resurfaced since the 80's. the building smells like shit too
Lvc's track is not too bad, I don't think it is actually mondo though.
The worst track I have ever run on and i am sure other people from Maryland would agree, would be the Baltimore Armory's track. It is like running on black ice.
It's tie between Colorado School of Mines and Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock. Some people have vanished in the turns behind those stands and walls and have never been seen again...
I would have to go with Niles East.

Seriously school of mines?? I actually liked their track. Its much better than the one at CU.

Mondo huh? It felt like I was running on a wrestling mat. The lines that they used to mark the track are also very slippery, I would slip every time my foot hit those things, had to go out into lane 3 on the turns also. That track is just awful although I'm sure there are worse out there.
Try doing an event less than one mile on that track and see how the turns treat you.
Anyone who went to high school in Maryland knows about the Baltimore Armory. I'm not sure what year they moved meets to the place in Landover, but I remember running in the Armory back in the late 90's and it was hell on earth. I'm not sure what the floor was made of, but I do know it produced some slow times. And the cotton mouth you picked up in that place couldn't be matched, that is, unless you were toking all night.

my local y has a 50m track, 32 laps to the mile. An all out 100m on there is like 18 seconds because the turns are so tight.
Unfortunately we still have to use the Baltimore Armory for region meets. Baltimore county/city still use it for their league meets.

Is that the 186 meter one with square turns that basically consists of a track painted on the floor of a warehouse? If Lebanon Valley is the track that I'm thinking of, it is the worst I've ever run on.
