you've got to be joking!
you are simply incapable of having an honest thought on this subject.
let me guess...girlfriend plays basketball? or maybe a family member?
according to you women's basketball is what the game should be.
kobe bryant could beat ANY women's team BY HIMSELF.
all of the two handed set shots and two handed chest passes in the world aren't going to stop a player with talent.
your 1950s fundamentals are a joke.
I have said for YEARS that without the NBA's financial backing, the WNBA would not exist.
I have a good friend who did his internship with the a professional basketball team that, at the time, ran a WNBA team (same ownership, since changed). He used to tell me how inflated the attendence numbers are and how certain teams, if they were playing on TV, would sit all the fans on the side of the court that the camera showed, to "show" good attendence.
That being said, I am just not a fan of women's sports in general. While I do believe, fundamentally, they are better than men's sports, I grew up watching and playing men's sports and therefore PREFER watching men's sports than womens. I respect women's athletic abilities as much as I do the men's, I would just rather watch the men
There was a womens pro league several years ago now, before the WNBA. They had the players wearing unitards for their uniforms. With a small number of exceptions, it wasn't a very good look.
What do I REALLY think of women\\\'s basketball?
Well, as one who suffers from insomnia. I think it\\\'s great..I fall asleep in no time. The crickets in the stands that constantly chirp are very soothing and help me to relax.
I thinks that the WNBA has come into possesion of some new technology: to me it always looks as the if the gravity in the region of the court has increased.

So, one of the few posters here who doesn't jump on the "women's basketball sucks" bandwagon is incapable of having an honest thought? Maybe you're incapable of having an original thought.
I know no one personally who plays. But I'd rather watch a (college) women's game than Kobe, with or without anyone else on the court.
I could care less if they have less talent than men. By that standard, we should just forget caring about USA distance running and just root for the Kenyans and Ethiopians.

Never thought I'd see the phrase "extremely hot" on a women's basketball thread.
And let me say, what do you mean "unfortunately ??!!" Big Blue forever !( and that's royal blue, not sky blue)
BORING. Who wants to see a bunch of players--men or women--who can't even dunk? Women's basketball is a wannabe sport and it will never be what men's basketball is. Look at how few fans show up for women's b-ball.
womens basketball could quite possibly be the worst sport in the world. i can't think of any other sport that i would rather watch LESS.. i mean honestly, if i was flipping through channels i might stop and watch curling for like 30 seconds or something, but if a womens bball game comes up, i'll change the channel like its on fire.
that being said, there are some decent womens sports. i used to watch our college womens volleyball team which was entertaining for a game and a half or so. womens tennis is also okay. i would rather paint a house or cut the grass though than watch girls try and play basketball.
The Las Vegas Lesbians, Chicago Canoe, Detroit Dikes, Boston Butch, Cleveland Carpet, Denver Divers , Toledo Tongues, Miami Your Mom.

So you're saying that you DO care that they have less talent than men.
bball may be the most aggressive sport

Yes, that needed to be said.
There have been a few truly great players with all the skills...Cynthia Cooper was quite amazing, and Sheryl Swoopes and Diana Taurasi are terrific, too. There just aren't enough.

it sucks. right?
The worst version in the WNBA. If they were playing across the street from me, gave me free tickets, and courstide seats, I STILL would NOT GO!
The WNBA is doomed unless.....they dress the broads in some more revealing outfits. Look at the Australian women's team - wow! Not bad outfits.
Wow,
It really saddens me to see such Misogyny.

Yeah, because every poster in this thread really hates women. Are you some kind of feminazi or what? So, people don't like WNBA. How do you turn that into misogyny. Thats the stupid kind of twisted logic that got WNBA started in the first place.
By the look of some of the posts on this thread I know that I will probably get made fun of for saying this, but here goes.
I haven't been to many women's basketball games, my experience is limited to a few good high school games back home, where our girls team was really good and occassionally dropping in on a few women's games after a run on the way to the locker room.
During one of these games I stopped and began to think about what I was doing as a walk-on runner for a great university XC team and comparing myself as an athlete to the women on the court. They too had struggled their entire lives to make it this far, they too hardly had anyone show up to watch them do what they spent so much time practicing. They too probably didn't give a crap about what most of the world thought of them and their sport because they had become so used to people disrespecting them.
I began to think about how someday I might be lucky enough to be the dad, what would I say to my daughter if she wanted to play basketball? Would I tell her, "I never watched a women's basketball game because I just couldn't see the value in it?" What better way to tell her that no matter what she did and how much she loved her sport, her interests would never be worth my time. What message would I be sending to my son about women? Would I be telling him to go out with some stupid floozy who didn't play sports because she thought it wasn't worth her time?
My parents had to sit in the stands and watch me run some piss poor races in my time. I still haven't broken 50 in the 400 or 25 minutes in an 8k, I just hit the 4:20 barrier in the mile last year. I suck at running, and I'm not going to get all high and mighty and say that women's sports aren't worth watching. If you develop an interest in the game all sports are exciting, even race walking or watching Lance Armstrong trying to break 3 hours in the marathon. My parents know that I suck, but if they can manage to be honestly interested in my running, I can become interested in women's basketball.
