I am thinking about running my first marathon. Even though I feel like I am up to speed on much of the sport, the marathon is something I know little about. Here is a little about me.
I’m 24 years old and have run 15:50's, low 4:20's and right at 26:00 for 8k in cross-country. I have had injury issue in college and speed work for the 800 and 1500 seems to just be to hard on my legs (I have had injury issues for the past 2 years or so). I am currently running a little under 50 miles a week with no real direction on what I want to train for.
If I start this type of training I would like to run around 2:55 - 2:50. I don’t know if this is realistic or not because I don’t know what would be a good time for someone like me.
My questions come in the form of training, Races (preferably in the southeast) and time frame.
