Do you take the days off and spend with your family or do you take an hour or so away from the choas and go running?

10 each...something easy...christmas I will wake up really early to do it and so won't want to run hard in the morning, new years Ill be too hung over to run hard
Family? 80 per day.
is that a joke....
Probably some sort of fartlek on Christmas and maybe a threshold on New Years...no better time to run because no one else will be out.
I'm up in Brevard NC. I'm just about to head out with my friend for a 90 minute run on the Dupont forest trails. We'll cover a little over 12 miles.
Lacing them up for 8 easy. Enjoy the scenery and nature. It should be nice and quiet out.
Just did 7 easy. It's already late here in britain and it was very dark, misty and atmospheric out. I procrastinated all day but am glad I made it. Tomorrow I have a local 5km race which I'll treat as a threshold run.
Not sure what I'll do on NYD yet.
Merry Christmas to all!
put in 11 today. new years day will be 15ish on trail 100 in Phoenix.
6.2
I am in town to visit my parents so I ran my high school's cross country course twice.
The hills seemed a lot smaller when I was running seriously.
i did a 5 mile tempo run today plus 2 miles warm and 1 mile cooldown, it was great nobody was on the roads.
new years day I'll probably do something similar.
I did 5 x 0m at resting heart rate this morning, and a long run of 0m at lunch.
I cranked out a 17.5 mile run around the hill and back. Very hilly run but felt great, because i seen one guy out side as i ran by his house and i said Merry Christmas and he replied back Merry Christmas to you too. So it made th eRun worth while and it just shows what today is all about!
9 miles this morning. After a big snow storm, we got a break with a cool beautiful day. Good run.
I snuck away from the extended family choas at about 2pm.
I did an 11 miler. 10 miles at more or less a moderate pace. I did do some faster segments up a longer hill just because the footing was good (it has been icy and slick for the last several days). I ran the last mile at ~10K pace in 5:43.
While out I saw two families going for a walk together. Both groups said "merry Christmas" to which I responded in kind.
My son woke up at 5am this morning. He normally wakes up at 7:30. He loved his toys and was happy all day. His favorite toy was a wooden block train set. His uncle got him a toy spider man that he is scaried to death of.
Ah, for the last several years (I actually can't remember how many, at least 5) I have gone for a run pre dawn on new years day. I don't think I have ever seen another runner while maintaining this tradition. I have run in several locations while maintaining this tradition and have seen several wild animals during my new years day runs.
I went out yesterday afternoon for a hilly 61 minute run. I will probably do the same on New Years Day. I don't expect to double. If I do, I'll run 30 minutes in the morning (4-4.5) and 60ish (8.5-9) in the afternoon.
Ran 10.5. Beautiful day in Cincy unless you wanted a white Christmas. low 40's, sunny, no wind. Probably a 5 mile race New Years or a 10 miler again. I live alone, no family nearby so can run whenever I like on holidays.
New Years day is the bigest day of all..that's when I get the log started.Although now in my 50's, I'm not sure what I can do anymore.
For some reason, I get more tired as the years go by-ha
I did 8 yesterday. I love running on xmas morning..no cars on the roads...I went a bit late (11am) so there were actually quite a few other people out running/walking.
I'll probably do 8 new years day too.
