So the not-zombies couldn't track him. I took it to be amonia or vinegar he was laying down.

Did anyone notice that the zombies screamed much like the Mummy in the Brendan Fraser movie trilogy of "The Mummy"? but yes back to the Dark Knight Trailer, damn thats gonna be goooood!! At the end when the Joker says "let's put a smile on their faces" gave me chills. Ledger, despite setbacks with stupid Brokeback Mountain looks like this will be the role to boost him in the spotlight!!
loved the movie..
do we REALLY know that neville died? ya know how hollywood works.
was a bit disappointed in the batman trailer, god i hope they dont produce another bad one.
yea, he's dead.

how are you seeing that as an ending cut short? Why would the freaks kidnap him? They just wanted to eat him, why in the hell would they have taken him hostage? Also this movie just proves even more that women cant follow directions. If that b**ch had just drive around until morning like will smith told her to, then he wouldnt have had to blow himself up.
Ok boss, look at 2:36 in the trailer.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=C2fWJ6ux8PMI don't know how else to explain that. They are obviously standing around him, not eating him. That is how I am "seeing" that they cut the ending short. That part wasn't in the movie
i think that it was supposed to be urine, since there were all the animals around he was probably trying to mark his territory
It seemed there were a lot of good ideas that were just sort of... thrown in together on top of each other.
Especially after the dog died.

Ammonia. Yeah, or alcohol. Something to cover his scent so they wouldn't suspect that he went into that building.
terrible movie
Could there be glass between them that we can't see?
Why would they *just* want to eat him? They've survived 3 years without eating people, and they have a high metabolism, so they must be eating something. They risk several lives to make sure they kill him -- it must be personal.
My first impression was that he was pouring kerosene on the steps so that he could throw a match out there, but the ammonia sounds like a better explanation.
how were we supposed to know that zombie olfactory sense is masked with ammonia?
Haha, I agree. Will Smith is making a mighty assumption, and we know what happens when you start assuming.
I liked it. Sure, I saw it when it was called 28 Weeks Later, but I enjoyed how it focused more on the survival part. Its interesting all the necessesities and entertainments needed to keep him alive/sane.
I'm just a big fan of these kind of movies.
Yea, I wasn't a fan of the "survivors colony". Also, I felt as though the zombie he gave the cure to inside the glass barrier got screwed.
If the military took out all the bridges to the island, how did the woman and kid get there, and back off later to go to the safe-colony? She said they were from Maryland.

Didn't like it. Too much unexplained for too long and the ending was just too abrupt and appeared to be thrown together.
That's exactly what I asked my friends who also saw it. The tunnels were all flooded and the bridges were all destroyed to seal the island off. (Not that it ultimately did any good as the virus spread across the globe.) Was she in that shiny SUV, the one she drives up to the colony at the end, when she picked up WS when the monsters were about to get him on the pier? Or did she maybe get onto the island by other means (boat?) and then found an abandoned car with keys in the ignition to drive?
As for why the monsters wanted to get WS, I don't think you can say it was out of a sense of vengeance any more than you can say it was out of a primal sense of survival, since he was both potential prey (along with the deer and whatever other animals were living there) and known predator. He had clearly been capturing many monsters for years for his experiments, as evidenced by that wall of photos that the woman saw in the lab. There was certainly a pack mentality at work with the monsters.
and WTF was going on with that family of lions? (when neville and sam were about to shoot the deer)
A. why are there lions breeding in manhattan?
B. what was up with the dynamic between neville/sam and them? why did he defer to them when he could have killed them for meat too?

maybe the lions came from a local zoo?
maybe just being nice since he saw that they were a family (with cubs) and meat wasnt as needed by him as it was for them. (lions dont eat cereal and canned goods like that Neville had stored up)

There were other survivors, which were probablyu eaten during the 3 years. The virus had a 90% kill rate, 1% were immune, and the rest turned into the zombie-like products. Neville explained these stats to the woman. In NYC, with about 8 million, that left 720000 creatures, and 80000 survivors, give or take.
