2nd overall in marathon Megan Hepp Qualifies for O-Trials

obviously if she finished 2nd overall in 2:45. the guy that won ran 2:39 after going through the 1/2 in 1:15. must have been a lonely run!

Geez I would think you have to be pretty fit anf focused to run that all alone. I ran a few races in charlotte and it was pretty hilly too. More power to her.

Megan was awesome, that is a tough course, especially the first half. She ran most of the second half alone and ran almost perfect splits.She dropped me at 18 or 19 and was alone the rest of the way. In terms of strength of field, yeah it was a joke. If they want faster times there will have to be prize money, too tough a course to run for time.

Wow. I ran with Megan at UNH and didn't realize that she is still racing. That is an awesome time for her. She was a conference champ in the steeple. Congrats Megan!

Good Job on the marathon Donny, from looking at the results it looked like she was running very swift. She must have put in some time w/some longer training runs. The 1st half is tough, I had friends do the half marathon and they were dying the last 2-3 miles of that they said because it was so hilly.

The course is ridicuously hilly, with almost all uphills and no downhills (2006). I couldn't believe how early the hills started - like 1 mile in - and how many hills there were after the fact. It is a slow course, but its also decently fun. 2:45 for a woman that young is a great time on that course.

You had a pretty good run for an old guy. That is tough course. I cant believe you did it again. You should have came to philly.

Thanks, saw your time in Philly and was MIGHTY impressed. I thought I might see you on Thanksgiving to congratulate you in person. I'm thinking about Myrtle Beach in Feb. to try and pop a fast one, you up for it?

This girl sounds like a good fit for the Hansons group. A young up and comer that is not afraid of a little hard work. I think that performance is probably good enough to get her a shoe contract and a little spending cash.

Does she post on or read Lets Run? Looks like she is one of the 125-150 gals that will get under the B level Q for the Boston trials race. Good luck to her and all the gals.

Does the Boston org committee have a web site with the Q's or do we need to battle the usat&f site to get info?

I was working the timing split at 20 mi, and was suprised when I saw a female coming by in 2nd overall place. She looked smooth and comfortable, just like she was out for an easy jog.

I think another feamale was in the top 5, but she might have been part of a relay. I've never looked at the results to see where the 2nd female finished overall ...

Yea I was out at the race and she looked like she was just doing a few easy miles along the way. Very Impressive to see a negative split on the back 1/2, after the 1st half most people fall apart at Thunder Road. i think the local guys are a little scared to race now.

I will probably do the 1/2 at MB.
