yeah, the silence is deafening. But it's not for the reason you think. It's because what you and Steiner posted is just stupid.
Look, who do you think you're fooling? I read through Steiner's cut and paste job, and wasn't impressed. And I'm sure as hell unimpressed by your snickering (or would "sn*****ing" be better?) Bloomberg! A great source of information about environmental issues, second only to the Wall Street Journal.
I went over to the corner of my office where I have about a year's worth of Science and Nature piled up. You know, those flaming liberal/left publications that wouldn't know a fact or a decent study if it hit them in the face...purveyors of junk science, goes without saying.
Yeah, those. And I took a quick scan to see what might be in the two foremost scientific journals of the english-speaking world about how water vapor is the true culprit, how CO2 is unimportant....all the stuff Steiner cut and pasted into his message.
You know what? Nothing I could find, though I admit I didn't scan every article in every issue.
And so, what might the reason be? Can you please explain why you (or, really, what you've posted) overturns years of hard work by decent scientists all over the world, whose political inclinations are certainly not known to you (or me, or anybody)? They just must be a bunch of liberal wackos. They're all wrong, is that it?
I guess we should thank Steiner for putting us all right, and so easily too -- just cut and paste into a message board thread. Nice!
And look, you guys. Do you have any idea at all, just any, of how breathtakingly stupid it is to make statements like "of course i don't expect all you liberals to actually read and understand that..."
I read it. I was not impressed. Some tables, some stats, some Fred Singer, references not linked to the text, student study guides used as evidence...come on.
Look at the body of the text. There are no citations I can see, except the conveniently vague one citing "DOE (1) and other sources" but not naming the other sources...really nothing to link the statements made, the assertions, to the "authorities" listed at the end. If I got this from a student, no matter what the subject, I'd flat-out fail it. It's a truly inept little piece of work and if Steiner wrote it, he should be ashamed of himself. I can't tell from the site he links to who he is, except maybe he's Monte Hieb.
If so, it starts to get interesting. Google Monte Hieb. You find that he's a coal guy. What a surprise? Want some comments on his site?

You've got to do better than that. There's no thread, no sustained arguments based on evidence. There are plenty of assertions, though. Nice! If this is what the dumb-ass right thinks is a scientific argument...well, it just shows that they are overwhelmingly dumb-ass.
And to Lemmings in Bali -- can we have a reference? Do you mind naming the news organizations that have been denied press passes? Or are you just going to line up with the other dittoheads and claim stuff you can't back up.
