Okay so I'm an 800m man PR of 1:48 and this year me and my coach have put more emphasis on the weights room.
My typical week the past few months has comprised of 3 workouts a week;
1. Hill workout
2. Track short interval workout
3. Repeats 1000's
So my week would generally look like;
Mon: 1000's repeats
Tues: Easy Distance
Wed: Track Short Intervals
Thurs: Fartlek
Fri: Rest
Sat: Hills
Sun: Long run
Now I'm just wondering where should I fit in the 3 weights sessions. One would say TUE/THURS/SAT but my legs lately just seem to be heavy come the end of a week doing hills and a long run.
What are peoples thoughts on lifting the morning of a day you do a workout on in the afternoon?
In terms of my weigh program, it isnt overly taxing on the body either, plenty of core, step ups (holding weights), arms exercises, sit ups, squats 40kg so nothing thats going to overload the muscles.
Any feedback would be apreciated.
