Wow - the guy who was second is from Libya. That is the first time that Libya has produced a world class distance runner.

the guy is old too, never heard of him
he's run the olympic marathon for libya a couple of times. never finished well, though did lead the pack at around 15km in athens.
He ran a 2:14 in Marrakech in January, which is the national record. He also holds every national record over 3,000 m it seems, according to ARRS.
This guy has lived in my country (in the EU) for many years and ran in many races around my town. He is pretty fast over shorter distances and has a marathon PR of 2:13. He is not old- born in 1978. I remember him running 1:03 HM when he was 20yo.
