I got a slight hamstring tear 2 weeks ago. Took three days off. Worked back up to 7 miles at a medium effort in a week with no pain. Did a few strides after a week then felt the pain again. Ran easy for a few days getting up to 10 miles at a easy-med effort with no pain at all. Today at 7 miles felt it again. For the most part I can run easy with no pain. I need to decide what to do. I have a national xc race in 5 weeks. I am on a team as one of the faster runners, and they are depending on me. Should I take a week off? If I can run easy with no pain should I run or will healing be prolonged? I have been icing a lot. The pain is only about the size of a half dollar but it is preventing me from doing any sort of fast running. HELP!!!!!! What to do???????????
