Seriously, though. How many of us can be sure that we are doing the thing that we are best at? How do you know? Results? Experience? Biopsy? Gut feeling? Happiness level?
I did 1500m the most, but I sometimes wonder if I was best at the Marathon, which I never seriously did.
I knew a guy who was doing 2:30-ish Marathons in his 20s, but when a very observant and knowledgeable coach convinced him he had "speed", that person became a 1:48ish 800m man after a few years.
What was Rod Dixon's best event really? :)
As Dixon and many others have illustrated, the "focus distance" may/should shift over time.
But, are you sure??? I never was.
