yes, without a second thought. a run to remember. bill is a great guy.
that would suck dude. Better off staying in your hotel room and watch the Cubs on TV.
Are you frickin joking? You even have to ask? A whole day with Boston Billy including a run? Jeepers, take it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i did a "fun run" with rodgers a few years ago. (tom fleming was along too) it was one of my running highlights.
they had the best stories of training, racing, and in general just living the life of a runner.
you'd be a fool to pass this up.
Yes! 50-megaton DUHHHHHHHHH!!! Why would you NOT?
Geeeeez.
No.
I think you're just rubbing it in our faces that you have this chance.
If you go, let us know how it went.
I ran alongside my wife in her last half marathon and Bill Rodgers was a guest of honour at the event. I guess he decided to jog the half, starting some time well after the gun went off. He passed us at about 9 miles running what looked like comfy 7:30ish miles. I though briefly about leaving my wife for a few minutes to have a jog with him and see how he was doing it, but decided against it.
I still kick myself (and my wife wonders what the hell was wrong with me) for not running with him for a few minutes.
Go for it, man!
Bill is one of the friendliest, most genuine people you will ever meet or run with - go for it, w/o a 2nd thought!
Why not?
I ran alongside Bill for a while at the Crescent City Classic 10k this year. It was a surreal experience. I say do it.
i will try and do it. if i can i will post and let you know how it went.
a problem has just come up, the father of some very close family friends just died and i need to be there either friday night or saturday. not sure how this will play out.
For what? Are you embalming him or digging his grave?

Fleming says you don't so much go for a run with Bill as go for a talk.
Rodgers always says something that smacks you in the head-Why didn't I think of that it's so obvious.
Go for the run...

good luck!
Back in the day (early 80s), my soon-to-be-wife and I saw an ad for a "Fun Run" with Bill Rogers happening at Super Jock N Jill in Seattle (Greenlake). We went expecting a jog around the lake, but it ended up being a somewhat serious training run with Bill. We didn't realize the seriousness of this "Fun Run" until we were close to 7 miles into the run and heading farther away from Greenlake Park. We finally summoned the nerve to ask how far this "Fun Run" was going to be and Bill said he was looking to get in an easy 20 miler. Realizing that this easy run was going to end up pacing us to PRs for 10 miles and the half marathon were we to continue, we decided to bail. The problem was that we were visitors to Seattle, and we had no idea where we were or how to get back. After wandering around neighborhoods of Seattle and eventually asking how to get to Greenlake Park we arrived back spent. We were proud of being able to hang with Bill "Frickin" Rogers though even if it was only for 7 miles. Plus we have a great story to remind us of the time we got lost in Seattle.
So, in short, I would seriously recommend taking this opportunity-- only find out how far it's going to be before you start.
i went for the run with him. i started another thread on my experience.
