Lucky you world sprinters, that Marta(Brazilian soccer star/worlds best player) picked soccer versus track. By her leg speed, I can tell she is faster than AllYson Felix.

If anyone watched the semi final today Marta's 2nd and Brazil's 4th against the US was an absolute peach.
yeah, Marta is insane. there were two sweet moves she made in the keepers box toward the end of the second half. the crazy thing is brazil says that they have like a thousand Marta's out there, but really their womens team has not been supported that much. a lot of brazil's athletes have really good speed though; put the U.S. to shame. i don't recall seeing one american athlete outsprint one of the brazilian athletes in that semi final match.
I've never seen a single soccer player that was worth a damn as a sprinter. And how can you tell she's faster than Allyson over 200 meters from running on a soccer field? It's the force into the track that matters more than leg speed or stride rate until force is maximized.
There's plenty of money being a world class sprinter (male or female). I don't recall seeing much of anything r=from Brazil at Osaka.

The best T&F athletes earn peanuts compared to the best soccer players.
I was going to become a runner, but Barcelona F C is paying me 30 million YEARLY!!! so I decided to play soccer
Malcolm Macdonald ran 100m in 10.9 seconds - not bad for a soccer player.
Wow, that is the time of a decent high school runner. Impressive!?!

Yeah and George Best ran 3.37 for 1500m. Or least that's what someone told me.
Considering the normal British Footballer in Malcom McDonald's day probably drank gallons of beer, smoked like a chimney, and ate pounds of red meat, a 10.9 100m is pretty good.
Also, it wasnt as if the footwear that those players wore was so advanded either.
If I recall, Colin Bell of Man City was a pretty decent miler and was regarded as "Britain's Most Fit Footballer".

Before calling me out perhaps if you did a bit of research you would find out that it was true. This basic intelligence I learned in school when I was about 8.
Malcolm Macdonald competed in a BBC TV programme called Superstars where stars of various sports competed against each other in various sporting disciplines.

That 10.9, even if not exaggerated, is most likely hand-timed, so add 0.24. I believe the international A for women's 100 meters is 11.15, so by sprinting standards, he runs like a girl.
And is that the fastest GUY you can come up with? HE would lose to Allyson Felix in a 100. And you don't even want to think about a MALE soccer pro against Allyson in the 200, let alone a female. By comparison, Reggie Bush ran 10.42 (electronic) in high school, and I believe Ben Johnson ran under 10.2 at age 15 or 16, before he got to Charlie Francis.
Soccer players may be great controlling and kicking the soccer ball, but they are not very good athletes by track and field standards. I would bet that most of the male soccer players would lose in a fair fight against Ininbayeva or Michelle Perry (the female high hurdles champ--5'8", 140, and RIPPED).
But the important part is she managed to pass... to herself...
and score.
And Allyson Felix's 21.81:

Go ahead, compare the leg speed...and the stride LENGTH. And especially, notice the last 60, where Allyson runs away from Veronica Campbell like she's not even there...
Only if Marta's really Flojo or Marion Jones would this even be a race.
