there should be other threads on here... the was one on here in the summer...
Adams has a weak team this year. they were unimpressive at the CSU Invite, granted on a shitty course. Western lost there coach, so they are a wild card (good but how good) abline christian will always get some damn kenyans. mines won the woody greeno there website said, and UCCS could return as a pretty decent team. there first meet went really well for them.
With one glaring exception the teams you mention are all strong again this year....
Colorado Springs did not do all that great at the first meet---unless you consider getting fourth, nearly 70 points behind New Mexico Highlands (another DII team), "very good"...by the way---in the updated results, New Mexico Highlands actualy beat the University of New Mexico (albeit without UNM running Jeremy Johnson)
Hogarth has not yey raced for Western State.
I disagree about Adams at CSU---I was not there, but they did come up with a perfect score against CSU...
Mines ran well, somewhat of a weak field, but pretty quick times.
There usually is a lot of Div II talk but thankfully most of the knuckle heads have stayed away from the boards thus far. If you look at the Div III and NAIA threads, you don't get much positive talk from those crowds.
If you want conference particular conversation, there has been a "NE Div II XC" "PSAC" and a few threads talking about the RMAC and such.
My thoughts on Div II guys is that the RMAC will have the best 3 teams in one conference. The Great Lakes region will have 8 teams that could be ranked in the top 20 - 25. The PSAC is getting better and more competitive across the board. The NE teams will not run as well as they think they will. Chico will run well without Baughs but not as good as they think.
I think the RMAC will have the four best teams and possibly five best teams of any conference---Adams, Western, Mines, Mew Mexico Highlands, Metro---all are legitimate national caliber teams...Not saying that they are the five best teams in the country, just that as far as conference depth goes, this could be the best conference in the country in DII...Put the RMAC with the NCC and it creates a real "super-region" some deserving teams will be left out of a trip to nationals
Can the north central region place 4 in the top 8 at nationals? Maybe 5 in the top 10? Adams, Western, Mines and Mankato in the top 8? Then you have Metro, Augie, Duluth, NM Highlands fighting for the last berth and then possibly making the top 10 at nationals? There is a chance that 2 of the top 15 teams in the nation might not even go to nationals out of the NC regional.
bump
Don't expect national championships this year from either the woman’s or men’s teams at Adams. As much as I would like them to win, the chemistry just isn’t there. I think their demise will be injuries throughout both teams.
yeah, they will be good but not quiet there. neither will western. i think abilene should be golden to win it all. though mines has looked good. its just too bad that Hamilton guy has used up NCAA eligibility. but chico couls also slip in there. this is a wide open race.
what does everyone think about chico being in the top five this year..on both womens and mens side?
chico seems to have a legit shot, putting 5 in the top 10 at bob firman and scoring 30 points. there appeared to be a change in the top 7 as well, very different from the Chico Invite.
it looks like an alum, I think their assistant coach won the meet outright as well.
They've probably got 10-11 guys that have a legit shot at being in their top 5 on a given day. Also the fact that they ran a 20ish second 1-5, and 50 second 1-7 speaks well of their depth.
They definitely have shot at top 5. I think their women do as well although they don't appear to be as deep at this point.
who gives a shit about this stuff?
just b/c you a a damn prick!
newcomers...well you see. vandenbusche left, which mean whats her face is a newcomer, don't think western will be very good, err, as good anymore

umm, I do. That's why I posted it.
Chico is good, but Adams, Mines and Abilene will all go by them. Sean Cusick was 5th on an underachieving Mines squad at nationals last year. (Hamilton placed way too low). Now Sean isn't even top 7 for them. Western lost their coach. They will soon sink to 3rd in the RMAC.
mines f***s up whenevefr a big race come around. they suck balls at nationals, top 10 if they are lucky!
chico will kick ass, its time for the end of the western/adams/abilene christian era!
Just wondering if there is any chance that in the North Central region would have 6-7 teams go to nationals out of there. The region obviously has the depth that those teams would be deserving to compete at nationals even moreso than some of the winners of the weaker regions.
If anyone knows how they select the teams for nationals let me know.
