I'm running my 2nd half tomorrow in Buenos Aires, and I'm wondering how much of a warmup is necessary if any. For the 1st one, last year, i did a two mile warmup beforehand which seemed to work ok. I ran a 1:23xx which I was happy with, but fell apart a bit in the last three miles. I was doing 40-45 miles a week at the time.
This year, i'm working off less mileage (coming off injury), 35 or so per week. I'm also worried about the heat - it's been cool down here for a month (winter time), temps in the 50's mainly, but it has recently warmed up and tomorrow is supposed to be 78 degrees.
Should I just bail on the warmup and use the first couple of miles - should I do a mile to work the kinks out of my legs first?
any advice would be appreciated.
