Anyone familiar with Chiropractors to fix calves?

The ankles are a possibility. Try finding yourself a good massage therapist; you may have to go to 4 or 5 before you find one you like. You should look for someone who specializes in myofascial release. If this is what your problem is, it will be painful, but it will be worth it. Depending on where in your calf the tightness is, it could actually be a problem in your glutes that is tracking down your hammy and manifesting in your calf. Anyone who is qualified should be looking for any sort of problem from your feet to your lower back. Good luck!

I have been doing the massage therapist route. I have been 2 times in the past 2 weeks, it did help and they were working more than the calves themselves, but it has manifested itself again. I feel like I've tried everything, but it is frustrating because, for example, the massage therapist told me to "quit running so much/hard" which makes me more upset because a) I am actually running much easier and b) i am not running the amount that i used to; that tells me that something is wrong. No one can figure it out though.

Have you tried Trigger Point massage? It worked for Achillies and may for calves too.

Dr Mark Lindsay in Toronto... he also knows accupuncture and ART (active release).

I'm a chiropractor. Certainly, a good sports chiropractor can be of help, but that depends on what is causing your problems. It is possible it is your ankles, and if so appropriate treatment could be rendered. I also agree that a good massage therapist may help here as well, though some muscle work on you sounds like it might be of good value.

ART is definitely worth checking out. Anything else, like "adjustments", should be avoided in my opinion.

Yes, I am familiar with Chiropractic. It is pure quackery. See a real sports medicine therapist with bonafide scientifically sound qualifications.

I swear by the Trigger Point Massage Baller. It was and is intrumental in healing my PF problems. My tight calf issues seem to be related to poor hydration, so I have concentrated on that this summer, as well as stretching, CORE work, and keeping my feet flexible.

The videos on the website do a great job of showing how and why the prouct works.

A friend of mine has been having problems with tight calves. He's tried all kinds of things, including osteopaths and chiropractors. A few weeks ago he got himself some long compression socks (like Paula Radcliffe wears). So far they are working very well - no tight calves. Here's hoping...

The massage is great but if you are not in school and don't have access to ATCs, paying for it yourself can get very expensive. Buy a foam roller.

After you finish your run, before beginning stretching, roll your calves over it, individually, 10 times each, before going into stretches for the gastroc and soleus. It will be painful at first and you will have to go slow, perhaps supporting some of you body weight so that the calf is not receiving full pressure. This self-massage loosens you up for the stretching. After the stretching, ice for 15-20 min. I recommend a knee-deep plastic trashcan or similar receptacle in which you can put water and ice. Listen guys ART & deep tissue is the way to go. The foam roller is not the same as having a LMT/ART person working on you. The depth that you go with a FR is NOT the SAME as a therapist can go. Suit your selves, but quality therapy does cost money.

ART was developed by a chiropractor in Colorado Springs, Mike Leahy. I think it is a very good way to go for sports chiropractic, though as I said I also feel that massage therapy will be helpful as well.

But bottom line, diagnosis is key here, and so I can't say who best to treat you without really knowing more.
