Who is running at Iona on Saturday 9/28?
There should be a list of teams at Iona's website. Iona's going to take home the win though.
Don't be so sure. Navy is bringing up a tough, tough team.
man i'll give 50 bucks if navy wins.
dunno who's gonna be there for sure, but expect dartmouth, william mary, iona (of course), some ivy league schools, BU, BC... um yeah.
iona should win handily, 5th guy 25:15 is my prediction. Can reid and riley stay with mcardle...if so they can outkick him. should be a fast one, 24:30's is my guess.
They may be able to handle McArdle quite easily. I don't know the man, but, on his website, he says that he is training straight through the race and has "low expectations".
UMASS-Lowell will be there.. Lowell returns 6 of its top 7 from last year and adds Jon Murphy who ran 30:45 for 10k last outdoor season. as is the always talented team that i think is making its 1st venture to VCP is Adams State.. the Adams squad is always among the top 3 or 4 teams in the country regardless of D1,D2,D3 or NAIA... they are a powerhouse and are my pick to win the meet
There is no chance that the Adams St team isn't better than the 22nd ranked team in Division 1 in Iona. If Iona is the best D1 team in the field, then Adams wins hands down.
i didn't know adams state was in there. i would also say i think iona is better than the 22nd they are ranked. mcardle will still run very well cause he always does.
People are going to get a big surprise from Iona. After Meet of Champs, they will move up a lot in the rankings. They should beat Adams State also. Allen, why even mention Umass Lowell? They won't even be in the mix.
according to william and mary's schedule, they are going to the paul short run at lehigh. that could be a pretty decent meet. william and mary, princeton, penn state. not bad if they all run their top guns. see you there.
A lot of New England teams are going from what I understand. Dartmouth and Tom McArdle reoresenting DI, ULowell and Bentley will be there from DII,Keene State from DIII. Lowell could give Adams a scare. Watch out for Carl Mease, 12th at Iona last year and individually Mario Fraoli from Stonehill could have a breakthrough race, as I understand through the grapevine he's been looking good after a summer of big miles. Look for Miller to take the race out, as he did last year and ended up 11th.
As far as Iona being a power house, I agree that they'll be pretty damn good. UNH has a very strong team this year. If they bring all their big shots, they'll be a force to reckon with. Individually Dan Hocking is the man... he should be able to run with McArdle and whoever else is running up front. He's one tough mo' fo'.
Screw Hocking... Jochen Dieckfoss is the man from America East...
This years race is a lot deeper than last year. Fraoli (spelling) probably won't even be top 20 this year. I doubt Miller will be a factor in the race. Iona has a good 5 guys who should take care of him. Hocking, Diekfoss, McArdle, will all be up there. I don't see any glory days for the d 2 or 3 guys this race. However, sometimes a nut job like Miller might pull something out and be in the top 5 somewhere.
dude, what are you guys thinking? umass lowell? navy? i don't think so. unh? every year they say they're ready to do something, and every year they're at their computers on the monday before thanksgiving, waiting for results to come in. this is clearly a two team race, iona and dartmouth, and it won't even be close: dartmouth will crush iona. as for the individual race, that won't be close either. no one can touch mcardle.

too bad they had 3 under 26 last year with mease finishing 12th....and they return everyone + jenkins and murphy. my call is 5th or 6th in the team race.
is western state definitely going to be at Iona?? They have the Stampede race the next week. Also, don't talk down the d2 and d3 runners, they are gunna show some people that all the talent in the Northeast doesn't lie in d1, watch out.
Adams State and McArdle leading Dartmouth to second. Iona??? maybe two years ago.
Yale women in a walkover or is Wake any good?
