Is there a 5k at the Chicago Distance Classic this year, or just the 1/2 marathon? I was thinking about jumping in, but saw no information about it online. I know they had one last year.

There isn't one this year and there wasn't last year either.

yeah there was.
http://www.onlineraceresults.com/race/view_race.php?race_id=30645k? Isn't that one of those side deals where fat people do a "health walk" that runs the same time as the real race?
Did this race used to (or still) have prize money?
I have a 5K as part of the listing in my mag, Silent Sports, but you're right there's no mention of one on event website or on the hotline recording.
(Interesting side note: The recording says there are pace groups for those wishing to finish the half marathon between 1:25 and FOUR HOURS.)

Yeah I saw the 4 hour pace group as well, and was completely amazed. A 4 hour half marathon is over 18 min pace...good thing the pace group should prevent them from going out too fast.

Now that I look past about the top two times on the men's side, I guess you're right...
