Clearly you know Fam or would like to jerk him off like most everyone else would Pre. But, regardless, you are correct. The kid has guts and I could see him getting the steeple record whereas I can't see Broe. I like his style of racing, where he doesn't give a shit who is in the race. 2)So what if Jason is over 30 and still going after his dream. He's doing what he loves. I won't comment on his sexaul feats, but Bangkok is the place for such feats. Even though it doesn't take much effort, which keeps him fresh for training.

3) I would say most people on this board are supportive. There are a few individuals that constatnly bash..do what I do and ignore them.Any serious runner knows what it takes to run quality times and will not pass judgement on any runner until they get the whole story.

i watched fam steeple i think just under 9, solo, just after leaving a CHUNK of his leg on a barrier at VMI one year...he didn't have to run fast...he just did

this guy is really a great competitor...a great racer--not many of those left in the states...he's a racer

Fameiglietti is a bad mofo. I think if injuries could be stop for him and Broe, one of them could have get a medal in 2004. I think it be good if the top steeple chase guys in the US started training together. But what do i know, I'm just a college freshman. But I know the faster the people I train with are, the faster I run.

..Just one thing though..talking about running the AR and then going 8:32 are too totally different things..I don't know if he was on the fractions or not..but 8:32 is not even close to AR..this is an event where we are non-competitive period..

It's funny. This board is full of people who never post here "except for just this one time." They're too smart for us "runner dorks", but just this once they're willing to lower themselves to our level and make a post in order to educate us.

Of course, then they come back the next week under a new name as someone who "never posts on this board, but..."

that is a good point it is like the girl you take home from the bar who acts shy and says i've never done this before. Then the next week she gives the same line to your roomate.

I don't realy know much about him, but I thought he ran quite well. At least he gave it a go and didn't come off the rails when other passed him.

In the steeple, leading a pack for a while isn't all that bad -- you don't run the risk of being behind someone who doesn't get his (or her) steps right.

As for Famiglietti not getting his props, well, whaddya gonna do? Sometimes life isn't fair. Besides, achievement is ts own reward; glorification by others obscures it (tho it makes it easier to get l--d).

And as for evaluating someone's goals or the relative ease of socializing in Bangkok, forget trying to rationalize or "scale" someone else'saspirations...I bet some of the people who heckle you from cars while you're running are driving to their Civil War re-enactment.
