What went wrong after he was treated and stabilized? This is really horrible, tragic news.
Sad news.
It's hard to say. The person who reported that he didn't make it, I believe, wouldn't make a mistake given the gravity of the news.
That is crazy. I actually just met him on Friday. He was really nice, obviously seemed very fit and looking good. Crazy how fast that can happen.
This sucks. I hope the best for him. Please update us whenever you hear more.
I wonder if he damaged his heart at some point with all his insane training and racing. I mean he almost died twice while racing, and Comrades was no picnic for his health either. The guy was tough as they ever come, but I wonder if it was simply a hidden genetic defect no one knew about, or, like I said, he damaged his heart at some point during his career. The latter would not be hard to believe.
Malmo, I'm praying that your source is wrong.
Hope for the best.

He is wrong and should know better.
That's good news regardless.
Great to hear he is OK!
Still absolutely crazy news though. I think many of us consider ourselves to be invinsible to health problems due to our lifestyles but anything is possible. This proves it. Crazy.
I like how you said he was "fine"...nowhere in there does it say he is fine. It says he is in serious condition, which still doesnt look good.
I was given same info! That he had passed. Called a few people to let them know. The confusion shouldn;t have happened! Very glad he is ok!
Got this off Yahoo! sports

I'm glad. I'll keep him in my prayers for a full recovery. I can't imagine the emotions for those who are close to him.
I wonder how that is going to affect Rupp, Goucher, etc going into Worlds since he will not be able to go with them. That is a pretty big high and low in a week.
