While having varied religious upbringings all three leaned toward Presbyterianism, although connections to an organized church were tenuous at best and in Lincolns case bordering on nonexistent.
The all openly held Christian beliefs if not ties to a specific church. I'd say that publicly announcing faith is of importance to the voting public. Will a Jew or a Muslems time come in the next score of years is doubtful but the voices will be heard and given more weight than in the past I am sure we'll see a Catholic revisit the West Wing sometime soon.
