when he covered the last 1k of his 3000meter race in 2:27 at the World Youth Champs...wow!
you stole that fact from me.. i was the guy who found that nugget.. when i was devouring meaningless races..and splits.
Cherkose improved in XC this year.. that strength will show.
I believe he will bust it open to a 12:47 7:28 ... but his real genius will come in the 10k where i believe he is capable of going for the WR in 2 years.
He was wiped out in mombassa .. finished in the top 20.. too lazy to check. Not an xc runner... but he is a beast on the track.
I think you will see a surprise.. i predict 8:08 in 4th place.
He will be leading with a lap to go.
from iaaf: "Feleke who this year has ran 7min 53.26sec, at the bell had only Bakheet for company, but he left the lanky opponent for dead with spurts beginning 300m from the finishing line.Indeed he covered the last 1000 metres in 2min 27.10sec."
sub 8:10 will turn some heards.
is webb's american record 8:11?
