only seen him on tv and in print. I thought he was your typical 5'9"-5'10" distance runner. He does not look like he is anywhere near 6'2"
Stuart Eagon of Wisconsin 6'4".
Very good 5k time. Has beaten Rupp. Same age as Rupp.
It's actually spelled Luke Beevor. Son of Mick Beevor ,training partner to Dave Bedford who was one of the best U.K distance runners in the late 60's and early seventies. Mick was about 6 foot himself.

GoDucks.com has him listed as 6'2". I've been within a few feet of him and he is closer to 6' (I am 5'11"). I should mention that they have Galen Rupp listed as 5'11" and he looks taller than that- more like 6'. As for the other guy, yes, AJ should be mentioned. Running 3:42 as a freshman is worth noting, especially since others mentioned in this thread did not run that time until later (if at all).
6 foot
alexkipchirchir-6'2
ivan heshko-6'
mehdi baala-6'0
bob tahri-6'4
abdelkader hachlaf-6'
dan lincoln-6'3
Tom Fleming once ran 2:14 at 175 lbs & 6'2ish
T&FN rank 1-10 marathoners average 5'6 5/8" with 5"3 and 5'9 1/4' the outliers and 5'6"mean
10,000 guys average 5'6"
5,000= 5'4 7/8

Tergat and Cheruiyot
It's a myth that Tergat is over 6, he is 5'11". Somewhere a long time ago it got written up he was really tall and it never was corrected.
Nick Rogers is a tall dude.
He is quick too.
Robert Cheruiyot is 6'2" and Ely Rono is 6'2 1/2"
I think Paul Ereng is 6'2"
Marty Vaino of Finland was about 6'4"
Tergat certainly looks over 6'. I've heard he is 5'11" as well though.
Derek Clayton is 6'2". Held the marathon world record for years.

Yep. And Clayton weighed upwards of 160. So did Ron Clarke, who ran a 27:39 10K and a 13:16 5K by himself on cinder tracks.
Clarke and Clayton are interesting cases. They were tall, heavy, and hammered pretty much everything. No easy days, no periodization, and yet they ran times during the 1960s that were close to world class even by today's standards. I know that Clayton was injured a lot and that Clarke never won a gold medal, but still....
peter maher of canada was about 6 foot 5 and ran around 211, tom fleming actually ran 2105 for the marathon, larry greer is about 6 foot 2 inches, gebre gebremariam looks over 6 feet, but he is listed as 5 foot 11 and 123 pounds, former edison high school star jon butler who ran 2847 his freshman year at ucla is 6 foot 2
tom fleming had a marathon best of 21205
Pifer!
Steve Gerhardt(sp?) from UC Davis in the mid to late 1980's. 3:41-3:42 guy. I lined up next to him for a 15 and he looked like 7-8 inches taller than me (I'm 5-10).
East African runners, like Teragat, are not that tall as they seem to be. It's just that they tower over their midget-like opponents who are around 5'3"-5'4" (Gebrselassie, Bekele, Sihine, Kipchoge, and in the marathon S. Korir and Khannouchi( N. Africa) at 5'2"). Tergat is between 5'10" and 5'11". The same applies for El Guerrouj, who is no more than 5'9" and only his long legs deceive the TV appearance.
Face it, most of the very best long distance runners are between 5'2" and 5'10" and 110lbs-135lbs. Others are exceptions who succeeded DESPITE the not-so-ideal body frame.
Note, that I mentioned the very best runners, not national class. I ment Olympic medallist, record holders, etc. Height and weight are part of the talent- i.e. predisposition to fast running. You can overcome it, if the other parts of the talent are that much more exceptional, but you'll be still lacking on this part. The last 5 record holders over 5000 and 10 000m were very, very short and light guys... Coinsidense? I don't think so.

The wineturtle comment 175 pounds and over 6 foot went together and is refering to the '83 Boston race.
http://talk.dyestat.com/showthread.php?t=26388&highlight=Tom+FlemingBut he'd be that tall no matter what poundage I guess.
Burfoot is tall and a lot of those 70's roadrats were taller.
Steve Ovett
Steve Cram
Steve Scott
John Walker
All over 6', IIRC
EL G is is most definatly 5'10
The Australian Mark Fountain (3.33) from Arkansas is about 6'2 i think.
K.Erik Stahl,Sweden, 6.3/ 2:10 marathon
G.Nijboer, Neth., 6.2/2:08 marathon
R.Cheruiyot, Kenya, 6.2/ 2:07 marathon
J.Marechet, France, 6.2/ 2:13 marathon
Takaoka, Japan, 6.2/ 2:06 marathon
Elly Rono, Kenya, 6.3/ 2:10 marathon
K.Maase, Neth., 6.3/ 2:08 marathon
Takaoka and Maase have the best track and marathon times for tall men (over 6 feet).
check this link about Maase.
Unfortunately he is often injured.
