McDougal to double at NCAA's

If he loves doubters then why does he love God? The doubter worldview vs. the believer worldview are antithetical and surely one does not delight in the absence of the experience of God for another being if one has experienced God. Such a sadistic enjoyment surely would not be a Christian view.

Theology aside, I disagree.

Josh has the talent, but he doesn't have the coaching. I think he finishes top five in both race, but will not contend for the win in either.

A 4:05 last 1600 off of a slow pace will not get him the victory, as Solinsky ran faster than 4:00 pace for the last 1500 last year and there are some other pretty good runners in the race. Further, I do not think he is going to haul Solinsky and others in after 5000heats and then 10,000 vs Rupp et al. If the 10,000 goes well and he is tired, he might not even run the 5000, although what does he have to lose at that point.

You only get so many chances in your competitive career, JM can choose how to use them. He will have to be better than 13:20 on the world stage anyway, let him push how he sees fit. I do have a hard time seeing anyone beating Rupp at 10,000. He that might be the heaviest favorite on the mens side, since two of the best HJ Thomas and Dix are in events where bad things can happen and Dix has to run the 100/200 heats and the 4x100 final (they can probably sub for the 4x1 heats).

Josh was homeschooled and his precollegiate racing was quite different than most others. His triple last month and this upcoming double is a huge workload. But he is a machine and everything is preparing him for the future. He is looking to run professionally after college while he can, and then we will see McDougal racing when it counts. At the moment he is running for a team and he is very much invested in that team. He's done well at Liberty and he respects the coaching and direction of the school, but save judgement until McD is running solo when his eligibility is up.

My bet is that McD doesn't even run the 10,000. The rankings posted above show that he will do much better if he sticks with focusing on the 5,000.

You cannot scratch and run the 5K final, that's why. Against the rules.

I am a fan of McDougal and want him to run well at nationals. You are not doing Josh any favors by posting something like this. You are expecting too much out of him and he is definitely not "head and shoulders above the rest of the field". You don't seem to know much about collegiate track.

We'll see who knows about collegiate track after Josh smokes everyone in the 5k. Do you really think his coaches had him peak in April? I don't think so. He's ready to rock and will be champ, even if people like you don't expect much from him. Josh loves doubters, that's why he loves God so much even though there is no proof of God at all. It's called faith. You should try it. Try believing in something bigger than yourself.

I doubt Josh would want you posting stuff like this. I also doubt that Josh considers himself the far and away favorite. Of course all these guys have confidence that they can win, but if he underestimated his competition like you do, he would never win a thing. I don't know how you could possibly interpret my posts as bashing Josh or bashing religion so quit being so defensive. Like I said, I wish Josh the absolute best at Nationals and I think he will do very well.
