if that's the high schooler, I'm not sure why they're putting him in there. He's not even close to the level that all the other milers are at.
if he's going to break 4 then i guess that would be the race to do it
Does anyone know what Centrowitz's racial background is? Is he mixed?
Dad was a distance guy and Mom was a half miler so he's mixed i'd say.
Actually His Mom was born in British Guyana which has many racial groups Indian(Asian), African Chinese Portuguese.I do not know what Beverly's background is other than birth place. Matt Sr. is newyorkese 100%.
i think he'll be slattery, wlson, ming gu.
He has stated that he has his own pacer. I would guess an AU guy.
If that's the case, should he really be in this mile? there's going to be two completely different races.
I don't think they'll be two separate races... he'll be a back of the pack-er, but I don't think he'll be separated from the field. Will he go sub 4? Odds are no, but he certainly has a shot at it on his best day. 4:04 solo, wire to wire is, by my estimation, probably tougher than 4:02 in a race situation. If you get the chance, watch the video of his race on youtube (somewhere). He was clear of the field in the first 100m and never looked back... imagine if he was actually chasing someone.
standing on the line with one of the deepest fields assembled in America would be nerve racking, but I believe he'll run well. Maybe not sub-4 but it should be fast.
His goal is to run under 4:02.7 (Matt Sr.'s HS PR), not sub-4.
Is this race on tv?
6/2/07 11:00 PM ESPN2 Reebok Grand Prix
6/3/07 1:00 PM CBS Reebok Grand Prix
i think he'll hit 4:01.78
beating his dad's record, but that'll be the fastest he'll run in high school
they let don sage in pre when he was a senior and he ran 4:00.? with a better lean he would be in the history books
