Well, it's not a song that she should be covering. Not that it's much of a song to begin with
First, that is a damn good name you have there. Second, you are absolutely, positively correct. A close second must be Celine Dion covering "You Shook Me All Night Long" (it was linked on the side pane), including gratuitous air guitar. Can I get rid of the sound if I rinse my ears with mouthwash?

Holy crap! I thought this would be a thread where people listed the worst ones. I was going to say Sheryl Crow's cover of Buddy Holly's Not Fade Away, but you win. That was the worst thing I've ever heard. I'm physically ill.
OMG, that Celine cover was nasty. Thread over.
Wow how horrible.
The Scissor Sisters cover of Comfortably Numb is really bad.
Judy Collins covering, of all things, Train's Drops of Jupiter. Judy was good back in the day, but covering Train? That's rock bottom.
Caught Entertainment Tonight while eating dinner. Wait until you hear Irene Cara covering Petula Clark's "Downtown" for some movie. Not a great song to begin with, but what do you expect from a 14-year-old back in the 60s?
I had to watch it again on Tivo in an effort to recognize the song. It was horrid.
Actually, I thought "Scissor Sisters" doing "Comfortably Numb" was a quite good total reimagination of the song, especially with the guitar solo on their SNL performance (which is not on the CD)
Shakira sure dances purty.
Yeah, but ... wrote:

yeah, I mean, I knew she was all about sex selling her music, but is that really what her concerts are like? Her strutting around like a stripper so that you are distracted from the crappy music?
Would that be so bad?
duran duran doing 'white lines'?
Limp biscuits cover of behind blue eyes was terrible.
in case you want to see just how bad the scissor sister cover is
I was disappointed when my local radio station played Radiohead's version of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". Huge Radiohead fan, and not a big fan of Pink Floyd's music, but for once, I was wanting the original and could not listen any longer to Radiohead's version.
Also, some country music singer covered Hinder's "Lips of an Angel". It was absolutely brutal and cannot believe it was aired, and still is!
f*** me. I watched a bit of the Shakira video and the Celine Dion video. WHY??? That was so incredibly shitty.
Oh, and in addition to Sheryl Crow's Buddy Holly cover, I also put a vote in for her version of Sweet Child o' Mine. So Sheryl is officially in the lead right now for the most bad covers.
Well, I know Patti Smith has an entire CD of covers out now and I watched her try and do "Gimme Shelter," and that was pretty awful.
the best worst cover - great vid too

The Rocket Man cover by william shatner is breathtaking.
What could they possibly have been thinking? The only better than 1 Shatner is 2, then 3. Gets the Bernie Taupin into too!
Totally blows my theory that a great song is impossible to wreck.
