I know brendan fitzgibbons went to Duke and won an ACC title in the 1500

I am trying to get Prs for each year in college for every runner. Not just overall PRs. Also if they transfered injuries etc.

shouldn't these guys all be in their prime, at age 28 if they kept competing past college and be household names? How come I haven't heard of many of these guys since about 1999?

forget it...most of them flamed out and didn't even finish running in college; unlike an old school guy like Malmo, who was more famous at 28 than he was at 18; despite the fact that he was the Maryland 2 mile champion and still has the state meet record of 9:10. (must be a weak state if no one has ever run faster than that at State; even though it is a fine time.). Hats off to the tough old school guys like Malmo who ran seriously all the way to their early 30s.

Sharif Karie ran at Lindenwood University (Indoor Mile Champ in 1997) and then transferred to Arkansas (mulitple time All-American, but never fully lived up to the potential he showed in highschool).

Tried to come back to running after graduating from Ark, but had some kindey problems and could never get good training in, so he has hung up the trainers.

Isaac Hawkins went to Stanford, I think he went on a mission in the middle of it so his college results might span six years or so, if he ran all the way through.

Kyle Smits went to Georgetown.

Joey Corr went to Minnesota and is now an attorney in Seattle.

Washn't 97 the year Brian Sell graduated from high school? Funny to think he's nowhere on this list but is more notable now than anyone who is on the list.

Here is Mark Thompson's training log, pr's, and such. He'll be my asst. coach for cross/track next year at Oklahoma Chrisitan University. He also went to my high school and placed 7th at FLN in 97'

Yes, Kyle Smits went to Gtown.

He ran 8:12 3k indoors, 14:14 5k indoors (14:17 outdoors), and 29:30 10k.

David Rodriguez also went to georgetown, ran 29:23/14:02, and was an All-American in XC, finishing 23rd in 2000.

He's now a professional cyclist, rode for Cofidis' development team for a bit (see here:

) and now rides in the U.S. for Navigators:

You should email the college coaches they ran for and ask if they have their contact information. I would venture to say most of them have some type of contact information.
