Ritz ran 35:05 for a 12Km workout. 3Km pace/1Km float X3. He's ready to run a fast 8k. Jorge ran sub 36. Both look in control in these pictures.

neat. i just read a good article on ritz in runners world. i've looked up to him since early high school, wish him the best.
Neat. Did Alan Webb run with them? I read about him in Sports Illustrated one time.
How slow was the float?? I'm just curious, because 35:05 is a 4:40/mile pace. If you put the float at say, 4:55 which is pretty fast for floating, then you still have 4:33-34 for the rest of it. That 7.5 uneven miles they did in control, is a 28:55 10K pace, adding on another 1.3 miles. Ritz was running only a 1:10 faster in Europe for a 10K. Pretty good, considering 25% of it was floating and they maintained good control throughout.
My point is, that's a heck of a workout for what we saw of them a short while ago at USATF's.
They are all overstriding. Why do you think Ritz is slow and always hurt? American distance runners all learn to Nike’s with overstuffed heals, thus overstride.
That's a pretty long workout.
As opposed to you who is fast and never hurt?
Are they running the USATF 8K in NY on 3/17?
Ya thats kind of a long way to be running on a track.
What does "3km pace" equate to. Obviously it's not 3km pace but how fast? I'm guessing aroumd 8.30.
must be nice to travel down to florida for a warm workout with no wind.
rad. they're training on my old high school track. back then it was an asphalt road. sure has come a long way. it's a great area to train, no doubt.
The 3rd guy is former Millersville standout James Carney.
wow, cool, golly gee whiz, they look fit in that picture, so fast, so lean, so beautiful, nipples taut, biceps blazing, and the sunglasses, oh they must be fitter than fit, those pictures are so NEAT!
old maclay runner, when did you graduate? I graduated '04.
i don't know but is "pace" perhaps something just under 8k record pace? does that number work? i would imagine thats the pace ritz would have as the target.

Could be. Record pace is 4:24 per mile. Which would mean the "floats" are at around 5:25-5:30 pace.

waaayyyyyy back in 1989. my senior year, we couldn't even field a full cross-country team. times sure have changed!
Another blue chipper wanting to join the group for track.
Mottram ran 5x2000m in 5:22 (62/68/62/68/62) with a short rest yesterday, looking easy..that's a better workout in my books
