Can anyone recommend some FAST Spring Marathons?? I have heard that San Diego is pretty quick, but don't know anyone who has run it.
Are there any other spring marathon alternatives??

I'm doing Eugene (www.eugenemarathon.com) because I live here. The course should be pretty fast...it's net downhill a little and there aren't any serious hills, it's about 2/3 roads and 1/3 asphalt paths. The weather should be cool enough (Oregon in springtime) and it's a small (3-4,000) field, but with at least seven guys committed under 2:20, it should be plenty fast.
I've also heard good things about Napa Valley marathon--fast, downhill course. Small field, though, and I don't know how elite.
Avenue of the Giants...Beautiful and pretty fast.
Do not be fooled. San Diego is NOT a fast course. You have to run up a freeway for about 4 miles and the weather can get very hot. I do not recommend traveling to this course in the hopes of running fast. They like to recruit fast Kenyans.
Napa Valley Marathon is pretty and more or less flat with a good size hill at 18 miles. They normally do not get fast runners and the field spreads out quickly.
No real flat fast courses in Cali in the spring, sorry.
