back to my only point that was actually relevant to this thread. if you want to respond to this post, please address it:
"what exactly does "political correctness" have to do with firing a coach for instructing his team of underage young men to touch themselves in front of him and each other? there is nothing PC/liberal/conservative/religious about this."
A less contentious post, I can appreciate, seeing as I was not attacking anyone PERSONALLY, though it sure seems as if though it were taken that way initially. In any event, I guess the crux of the matter is that we have different opinions about the appropriateness of the incident. I simply do not see it as a lewd, lascivious behavior. I think he was trying to make a point and my old coaches, in cross-country no less, used some of the same antics as a type of psychological warfare. And no one thought the better of it. This was some 20+ years ago now.
But anymore, one cannot even approach the perception of having crossed a line, lest it provokes SOMEONE in some way. Perhaps I am overgeneralizing, but unless this guy really did have a history of inappropriate behavior or was a child predator in his own right, I simply don't see the harm in it. If I was the one asked to grab my balls, I would have laughed. I just don't think it was as unseemly as you are all trying to make it out to be.
Anyway, I do appreciate your humility in taking it down a notch.
