I agree. Not only completely inappropriate, but stupid. The firing was justified.

As usual, the whole story isn't there.

There has been a serious of complaints over the past four years about the same coach. He has been reprimanded and warned several times. This is well documented in all the other articles I've seen about the incident (I live in the area).

Don't bother digging any deeper than your biased source, though.

Interestingly, he was fired the day after being assaulted (shoved) by a parent. He is pressing charges (as he should, if the story is accurate).

Why is it that everytime someone does something stupid or inappropriate and gets called on it, those that disagree always blame it "being PC?"

I don't know, my high school coach said if we ran like crap that pussification had set in, and said walking was for pussies. Though that was at an all guys high school. I thought it was alright, never really offended me.

I see a big problem with this. If you've got to take your team aside and tell your team to check their manhood, it's obvious your dealing with a bunch of p*$##ies.

If the kids want to have a circle jerk on their own, that's OK. But the coach shouldn't be leading it.

Just like prayer groups, it's OK if it's not state-sponsered.

For me the dividing line here is telling them "check your manhood" and "whoever has the biggest manhood is going to win" and actually having them/meaning for them to do it.

That sounds like normal coach talk to me, and is fine, but actually reaching down and doing it? Thats over the line...

Great point. If political correctness does nothing more than get you to think before you speak or act, then it has value in society.

It's like the ACLU - sometimes it goes overboard, but I'm sure as hell glad it's there.
