If you ran at a D3 school, can you run in grad school at a different school that is D3.

no.
yes
I ran 4 years at a d1 school, had one sem of xc left, transfered and used it(for grad school)... but im not sure about d3
I ran at a D3 school. I'm pretty sure that as long as you have not used up your eligibility (4 seasons) you could run in grad school.
So if you did not run for a team in undergrad, you can run while in grad school? Is there an age limit?
i'm not sure about d1, but for d3 if you have eligibility left after graduation you can use it in graduate school (at any division level) as long it is within 8 years of your first season of eligibility used. I think that's right.
Nope - you have 5 years of eligibility from when you enroll in an undergrad institution, whether or not you participate in any sports. If you went straight to grad school, you'd have one year of eligibility left.
At least that's my understanding - bummed me out because I was slow in high school and didn't run in college. Now (on the cusp of grad school) I could run for a college team, but am not eligible.

NO you cannot compete at a D3 school as a graduate student if you did not go to undergrad there.
Kartelite has is it right - you can't run D3 if you didn't go to grad school there. I gave up on a medical redshirt b/c I was head to a D3 grad school after running DI. I checked with a the eligibility people at both schools and each confirmed it.

I'm 28 years old, never ran as an undergrad, just started graduate school. Could I run for an NAIA school?
Yes you can. At least you could in 2001 when my coach did it. Graduated from one place, then ran indoor at another while taking masters in education courses.

D3?
I'm assuming D3, so while he may have competed, technically he shouldn't have. Lots of stuff goes unnoticed by the NCAA.
Different question regarding the same question:
Could I run a season of outdoor track at a D1 grad school after running 3 years of outdoor track at a D2 school?

If you went to undergrad at a D3 school, you can use remaining eligibility in grad school as long as that school is D1 or D2 (but not D3).
I'm not sure about the rules for going from D1 to D3.

This guy has it right, unfortunately you can't do it. I tried and was told no by both schools. Problem was that the school I did my undergrad at didn't have a grad program in my area at all, in fact they only had one or two grad programs at all.
Anyone know about NAIA eligibility? (see my above post)
I checked their web-site but didn't come up with much.
Well, he was a multi all-american at the D-III level at the school in question as a grad student, and no, he didn't graduate from there. And yes, both schools are D-III.
