Any thoughts?
Predictions.
Meb 2:14:30
Hall 2:10:25
Hopefully faster relative to his flat Houston Half. (pun intended). Long way to go. I think he is focusing on OT as his big race this year. London may more $ issue.
Meb went out in 62:45 at Boston; insane for that course; slowed on the second half and ended up 2:09:56. Then in August on a tough half course he ran 61:20. He has never run a full on "fast" course; 2 NYC, 1 BAA, and an Olympic silver only 2 1/2 years ago.
London 2007 for Meb; 2:07 low, breakout time-wise race.
I think that I read in an interview that Abdi was training with Meb for a while, and he ran 2:08 in Chicago. I'd love to see Meb go 2:07.
with good weather and no problems around 2:07:30
2:13 hall
meb under 2:10 for sure.
2:10 for sure?
See you have several promblems - Redskin fan, Vegan, Ultrarunner. And you think Meb is going to beat Hall by three minutes. Did you think about Meb's last two big races - NYC and Houston vs. Hall's 20k in Europe and Houston? You pobably don't think much b/c you are a Vegan Redskin fan.
i don't get the pun.
I don't get the name
best way to spin that 1/2 is that he ran flat, i.e. he just didn't have it that day, he isn't near his peak.

I know he was gunning for the Olympic A Standard (2:12), and probably was a bit conservative, but he did run Chicago in 2003 (2:10:03) I believe.
I do think he is quite capable of sub 2:08, and wish him the very best. He's one of the nicest dudes in the sport.

He's not a redskin fan, he's the redskin.
still don't get the pun....

No -- like, he's an injun.
so ny runner, you say pun intended about something and then can't tell me what you were trying to say? i'm only asking because curiosity has gotten the best of me. as far as the name, its slang. say your sister was bangin hot, if i were to see her, i would refer to her as f***ing book, or if i was talking to someone else in regards to your sister, i would say, "look there, that girl is f***ing book son".
They say having kids makes you faster!! 2:08!
Depends on how intimidated he is by his opponents. Hall has taken a lot of starch out of him. He'll be lucky to break 2:15. Hall 2:09. Winner - 2:06 and change.
I agree pretty much about Hall and winning time of 2:06ish. A Hall debut of 2:09 at LONDON is very realistic. Yet, I do not believe that he has the experience yet to win a MARATHON against a field like the one assembled for London, his 59:43 notwithstanding;it will take 2:05/06 probably to win. I think that you may be selling Meb a little bit short (2:15); he is on the wrong side of the age curve, true, but on London's course, I would say 2:10-12. Again regarding Hall, I hope I am wrong and he WINS in 2:06!!

Houston HM the course was fast / flat and Meb ran flat / not fast. let it be.
His best days may be behind him. Good thing he didn't jump too fast into the marathon so he get that 13:11 5k and 27+10k. At least he didn't wait as long as Williams who never broke 2:11.
I think Meb finally tags one, low 2:07.
Hall will shadow Meb until the last 3 miles and come in high 2:08.
