he kicked real hard. I didnt know they had rabbits, I thought it was going to be even more interesting
did they add that music on the video in the background or was it playing at the track.
Create that seperation in the last 100m. bald headed Webb blew by him cause of no wind resistance with his head.
Holy crap is he getting bald. Got to say, though, that it looked like a workout for him. Didn't look very spent after the race.
Anyone have full results of the elite mile?
Maybe it's just because he's bald now, but Webb looks like he's put on a little weight in the last year.
The armory always plays really gay music during meets.
Just got back from the Armory. Yes, they play music there. It's a nice touch I guess (depending on what song they play during your race). Looked to me like Webb could've ran faster. I believe the leader went through the half in a high 1:58, with Webb in 3rd at that point. In any event, it was a solid effort and he took the "W" in New York.
Regardless who he looked (bald)Mr.Webb looked very strong and capable of better than what he did today. That race looked very easy. He did not look tired at the end.
no, he looked tired at the end.
he'll need to be a touch quicker in his acceleration to finish in front at milrose.
He'd shaved his head. That's why he looked so bald. Okay, what's next?
its the song from chariot's of fire. I think thats by Yanni if i recall....
Webb v. Lagat = "Shinehead Showdown" (throw in Heschko for the trifecta)
Chariots of Fire is by Vangelis

Definitely the worst running-associated song of all time. Like aural qualude.

When did Dick Buerkle come out of retirement?

Classic! Might as well be by Yanni, or even Zamfir (master of the pan flute). That is the most uninspiring song. The movie sucked too.
Why do so many distance runners step back with their front foot at the start.
Webb does it! This is a bush league mistake that costs him .2 seconds easy. It is simple mechanics. Most well-coached high schoolers take a first step better than Webb's.
not so! think about this: why do sprinters put their hands down in front of their feet, only to pick them up once the race begins?
the front foot in a distance race (since you don't start from blocks) serves like the sprinters' hands. when you pick up the front foot, you begin to fall forward. add in some push from your back leg and you have a good, quick start. it's like the POSE method, but only for one step.
