Hopefully everyone checks out the article on Wang on the front page today. I mean I know a large percentage of people think she was on drugs but what the hell type of drugs was she on that made her so so so so much better than anyone else in history.
Anyway, the most amazing female runner every. Crazy 4 world records in 6 days? Starting with the 10k.
So i'm reading it and find out she went to Colorado University. Crazy. Un******* believable!!
I mean that shows how screwed up our sport is and how screwed up the press is in our sport and how "american" centered we are.
I mean the greatest female runner is going to CU. Did anyone talk to her? Did anyone on the team even see her? I bet they did but the sad thing is no one would recognize her just as we so often group the faceless kenyans together as "yet another foreigner."
I think it would have been fascinating for coaches or other runners to talk to her and pick her brains. I mean hell there was something amazing with what she was doing (even if she was on drugs which i really don't know about).
At the very least, she should have been interviewed or something. SI should have been all over that as the drug insinuations would make it a fascinating read.
I'd like to read that book at her coach.
your thoughts?
