What are you even talking about? All I asked originally is what would be an equivalent performance in a race such as the 1500m, mile, 3k, 5k, etc...

JTD, just math I have done; similar to your stuff I am sure. I would like to amend my marathon of Hall's prediction to 2:05:23 & 12:55.3 for the 5k.

JTD, What would project Keino's Mex-City 3:34.9 equal to? 3:26.5, maybe?

T2 = T1 x (D2 / D1) x 1.06

where:

D1 = distance you already raced

T1 = time for the known distance

D2 = distance you want to predict the time

T2 = predicted time for the new distance

my course record on the 2.4 mile loop that runs from my childhood house around the grade school and back. Nobody has beat my record, still standing from 1975. I ran a 10:58.

Webb might be the single greatest runner ever assembled.

I'm impressed as heck with Ryan's 20K and 13.1M. But maybe w/o coincidence, these are less contested races, usually competed during the elites' non peak period. In other words, how often were these distances competed by the best during their peak periods, like many of the other distances listed above? Therefore, how can we establish equivalent times??

Months ago, Hall was running 13:30 5K's, which implies (estimate) 27:40 10K's. Now 6 months later, he's the equivalent of a sub-27:00 10K and some El G type of times?? Sure Hall's finding his best distances and that needs to be figured in, but any chart with him fairly close to El G is just wrong. This is a pretty difficult statement, considering what Renato said. But is Hall w/in shouting distance of El G ability?? That's what his statement is saying.

BTW, I'm sure I'll get bashed, but at least address the argument. As a long time fan and average runner, I'm just stating what I really think.
