i like the arctic monkeys, but if I could start a band I would name it "furry asphalt". If anyone takes it I will come to a show and hurt you, maybe not physically but mentally for sure.

The post asked for favorite band, not the best band. Favorite would be a matter of individual taste, so there are no "incorrect" answers.
And for your information, Steely Dan is nowhere near the best band, either. That being said, my favorite band is Queen.
