I ordered a NavMan R300 yesterday and would like to know how they compare to the Garmin Forerunner models. Also i heard both models are 99% accurate, is this true?

Well, it's 99% true. Can't speak to the Navman, but I've had a Forerunner 201 for about 3 yrs and it works pretty good. It will lose lock with the satellites under heavy foliage or amongst tall buildings from time to time, but when it finally does pick up again, it extrapolates the distance. I've heard the Garmin 300 series are better at staying locked in. I've been pleased with mine.
Again, I can't give you any data on the Navman, but its the same technology, I can't see where it would be much different.
ive got a garmin 300 and the thing is pretty accurate. i haven't wheeled out distances to check or anything but when i bring it back to my computer to gmap my runs it shows which side of the street i was on.
Garmin 300? I think you mean 301, or 305?
And, to the poster above you, it INTERpolates the distance.
So it still adds the distance on even when it's not picking up?
Kind of. It will interpolate the last known point to the current point via a straight line. In a lot of cases, such as lost signal due to buildings, that would be fairly accurate, since you're probably running on city street. In a situation where you're on trails, the actual distance will probably come up less than you've actually run, unless you are running on a straight trail.
