can an athlete who has attended a dI school for 4 years of eligability then go on to attend and compete for an NAIA school as a graduate student?

I don't think so, you have 10 full-time semesters of school to finish 8 seasons of eligability. So if you have a red shirt or injuerd season that you did not make up then you can.

No. You can only compete in graduate school in the NAIA if it is the same school you received your undergrad degree in.
Also, competing in the NCAA counts in the NAIA and vice versa, so even if you did not graduate from your NCAA school, you still would not have any eligibility left in any sport you had already competed 4 seasons in.
