Thinking about heading to Miami in November...staying near S Beach, or Miami Beach area. Any suggestions, tips on places to run...or for that matter, where to stay?
Thanks in advance.

My man, forget about running while you're there.
The running in Miami is awesome! You can get in miles on the hard packed sand of Miami Beach, or head along the intercoastal. There are nice quiet neighborhoods with palm tree shaded roads.
Running in Miami Beach can be pretty crazy. Honestly you will be running in the morning, just when all the clubs and bars will be letting out. The best thing is to get up early before all the traffic hits. Run along the west side of Miami Beach near the bay. or run over one of the causeways to downtown. If you need any tips on places to go to let me know. Some nice hotels are:
The Albion Hotel
1650 James Ave., South Beach
305-913-1000
The National Hotel
1677 Collins Ave., South Beach.
305-532-2311.
It all dependson price range you want.

If you like nothing but cement and seering heat 10 months out of the year than Miami is for you. You can forget about any midday runs unless you have an incredible tolerance for the heat. You will wind up doing the same trails over and over. And oh yeah you better watch your ass crossing roads, people in south Florida have no respect for pedestrians. I have been running in South Florida for seven years now and the only worse area that I can think of to run is somewhere that snows so much that it keeps you from running.
