I have 3 kids... thankfully the oldest is almost ready to keep up cycling.
Anyway, we have a triple-jogger and on occasion, I will either run with my better half (or give her a break) and push the kids in the jogger.
The resistance (esp. uphill) of 40lbs of jogger and 65+ lbs of kids is significant. So, usually, (on the flat) my HR is about the same as if I am going 1.5-2min faster joggerless. Is this running useful at all? If I keep HR at 85%max even though I never break 6:45pace equivalent to a regular tempo run? Should I avoid running with the jogger? Anybody fast run a fair amount with one?
